CURRICULUM
Each weekend consists of 18-20 hours of study comprised from our core areas: practice (asana, pranayama, chanting, mantra, etc.), teaching methodology, anatomy and physiology, philosophy and ethics. These weekends are supported by take-home reading, anatomy assignments, practice logs and journaling.
We often include guest teachers and lecturers in our weekend syllabus. These guests offer our students an expert view of yoga philosophy, tradition, and anatomy.
A sample weekend is listed below:
Friday evening:
Lead Asana class (1 hour)
Lecture (2. hours)
Pranayama (.5 hour)
Quiz (.5 hour)
Saturday:
Lead Asana class (1.5 hours)
Discussion and review (1 hour)
Lecture (2 hours)
Asana Clinic - teaching methods and practice (4 hours)
Sunday:
Pranayama (.5 hour)
Lead Asana class (1.5 hour)
Asana Clinic (4 hours)
Required for Completion
Students must meet the following requirements in order to complete the course:
Attend all 200 contact hours
Complete all homework assignments
Teach one, one-hour Community Class free of charge
Pass 9 of 10 quizzes
Log six hours of practice per week
Complete a final project
